Smokey and Friends is a Chicago Based band. The band consists of a group of musicians who have worked in the Chicago Blues, Rhythm and Blues, Jazz and Rock scene for the last two decades. Members of this band have worked nationally supporting several great artists. The band members decided to form Smokey and Friend to play the music they love and enjoy the freedom of expression. Their music is a form of self-expression and provides the opportunity to celebrate their influences of many different genres. The combination of sounds and rhythms are blended in ways to take the musical experience to many new and different places.

 Smokey and Friends consists of Paul Losiniecki, Mike Wolf, Bill Rosas, Chris Simler, Paul Streff and Chris Parenti. The members of the band have played locally and nationally with Matt Guitar Murphy, Brother John Kattke, Bo Diddley, Why Not, Buddy Guy, Kax, Son Seal Alumni, Twice Removed, Northwest Corner, Hurricane Gumbo, John Vermilye, Scott Nev, The Fun Guise, Drivin’ Wheel, What Not, Further Blues, Spoke Norton, Paradise Waits and many more.

Mr. Blotto is a jam band from Chicago, Illinois. They blend hard rock, original rock, southern rock, folk music, and country rock. They formed in 1991, and continue to tour extensively in the midwest area.

Mike C. Oboza

After being diagnosed with High Functioning Autism, Mike C. Oboza, himself, he retired as a Michael Page awarded activist, because of burn out and became a Illinois Documentarian published photographer volunteering for community events.

Ronda Cole

​has been an artist all of her life. At age eleven, Ronda won the first Wisconsin's Art Education Associations Youth Art Month poster contest. For the past 13 years, she has been the graphic artist in a public library. She is also Johnny V's publicist. Recent projects include: The album art, photos, and concept of Johnny V and The Killer Bzzz album cover for Barns and Bridges, the banner for the band Joker's Wild , and 2014 and 2015's Rock4Autism poster and t-shirt design.

Josh Robson

is currently in school working towards a Bachelors for music therapy. This is Josh's first year doing Rock for autism and he is  very excited to be a part of and  a supporter of the cause. Welcome to the R4A Family Josh!!

has been the pro photographer for Rock4Autism since 2013. He has also been providing Mr. Blotto fans incredible shots for years. He also photographs Johnny V and the Killer Bzzz and a variety of other bands and events. Most of the photos on this web site were taken by Alex.

Annette Szymczak

​ is a 5th-8th Grade Reading, Writing, Spanish teacher at Pleasantdale Middle School. This will be Annettes 6th year as a volunteer for Rock for Autism. She is a huge fan of music, art, and gathering people together for beautiful causes. She also volunteers at other charity events like: St. Baldrick's, Book Drives, and Restore (affiliated with Habitat for Humanity).

Rock4Autism was conceived in mid February 2009 by Gia Eppolito and Paul Bolger of Mr. Blotto. Gia’s son Nathan (12) was diagnosed with autism at 22 months old. Becoming an activist in the “field” and raising awareness would not only help Nathan but others on the on the autism spectrum. Today, the CDC reports now that 1 in 68 children will be diagnosed with autism.

Jay Vonn is an Americana/Folk musician from Illinois who wanders the country in a Chevy van with his dog. A writer of songs since he knew how to talk, Jay has played in clubs and at festivals all over the Midwest and beyond, sharing the bill and stage with many fine musicians. Coming soon to a town near you!!!

The Autism Support Program at Options & Advocacy is for families who have a child with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or suspects their child has an ASD.

This program will:

Connect families to diagnostic locations
Build a families understanding of their child’s ASD
Provided resources and referrals
Create a service plan for the families short and long term goals
Provide classroom observations, team consultations, and educational advocacy
Offer Parent Support Group opportunities
Support individuals with an ASD through Game Nights and other social opportunities
Send out a monthly newsletter highlighting program, agency, and community events; autism news and research; family and educational resources; and much more!
